Tour Guide at Louisiana State University

Class of 2025

Hometown: Mandeville, LA

Major: Mass Communications

Concentration: Journalism

My advice to incoming students is...

to participate in all the opportunities that LSU offers the first week of being a Freshman at LSU. I participated in both Stripes and Welcome Week and those activities changed the course of my college career. I was able to get connected with my school, meet new friends, and learn how to maintain success academically through different opportunities that are offered through the Center of Academic Success. Not to mention, these opportunities allowed me to connect with other students that felt overwhelmed just as I did my first week of college. It allowed me to not feel alone but feel as though I have a whole community behind me while learning how to navigate through the unfamiliarity of college. I would not let anyone pass the opportunity to get advice from upperclassman since this helped me to during my first week of college.

The highlight of my college experience at LSU has been...

the thrill I have experienced when going to LSU football games on Saturday nights. I am able to tailgate with my friends and be a representative for my school. The excitement experienced when sitting in the student section at LSU has allowed me to continue to meet new people while bonding over the love for college football. Hearing "Callin' Baton Rouge" and watch the Golden Band from Tigerland take over the field before kickoff is an experience I will never forget! These experiences we dream of as young children are only able to become a reality when coming to LSU. I can say that the wait is worth it.

I chose LSU because...

I felt like I was at home when I visited LSU. I knew when coming to this school that their number one priority was the success for their students, so this allowed me to feel comfort in the fact that I would always have counselors to help me through my academic career. In addition, the Senior College, the Manship School of Mass Communication will provide me with the opportunity to pursue a prestigious degree while providing guidance in what concentration will be best for me. It was only an added factor that my mom graduated from LSU in 1991. I knew it would provide a special bond with both of us that we can share the experience of going to LSU.

My favorite spot on campus is...

the Quad. This a place where everyone can gather at while enjoying a pretty day outside. Not to mention, most of my classes are located near or in the Quad so this will allow me to get my classes easier and more efficiently. In the Quad, you will really be able to see the community that LSU offers while students come together in one place to study or hangout after a long day of classes. The Quad is the most peaceful place on campus while being the center of campus as well.
